Fishermen - A Warli Story

Fishermen.jpeg

Warli artists are known for their knack of storytelling, stories of things that matter to them collectively as a tribe. Fishing, traditionally an essential part of their livelihood, happens to be one such activity, here on an experimental indigo dyed cloth background a scene of fishing is depicted. The play of perspectives is exceptional here.

Rajesh Mor: A warli artist extraordinaire, experiments with mediums and colours to add novelty to his paintings but keeps his stories true to tradition.
